To celebrate, I am going to have a little "Blogan Pre-Halloween!" giveaway! Weeee!
But first, can I admit that I get a little grumpy when I am stressed out?
Can I admit that I had just the teensiest little meltdown? Just between us blogans (and some of you already know this!) I cracked like a Halloween walnut and swept all of my family's clutter from the kitchen countertops into a pile in the middle of the floor.
I got tired of looking at it. I also swept coffee grinds, bread crumbs, and other miscellaneous foodstuffs.
My pug appreciated this, lemme tell you. He climbed up on the mountain of hoodies, Magic cards, water bottles, school work, etc.,etc., and took himself a nice little nap. I would have taken a picture, but it was not one of my finer human, or blogan, moments.
But let's not think about that! Let's think about a GIVEAWAY!
This is Zador.
Look into his eyes...he is a mesmerizing vampire-rabbit-monster-thing.
He wants to come live with you!
All you have to do to enter, is leave me a comment.
You'll be happy to know that the mound is gone, and my family is giving me a LOT of room.
I'll pick a winner this Friday night (I'll close the drawing at 6pm on Friday).
And since I love Halloween so, I will have another giveaway after this one! Or I will make another mound on the kitchen floor, I'm not sure yet. :)
Ooooo pick me! Also drop by blog I'm having a giveaway too.
ReplyDeleteMe! Me! Please pick me! I'll let you enter my next give away! Okay, you can enter my next give away even if I don't win yours. Hope you got all that stress out with your clean sweep of the countertops. I hate when I do that but it does make you feel a little bit better. at least for a moment it does, and then I tend to feel rather dumb. So congrats on finishing up your writing for now. Put your feet up and relax so you can avoid that next meltdown.
ReplyDeletePick me! Pick me! I am here cheering you for throwing everything in a pile and letting the dog sort it out! (can I borrow your dog? a parakeet doesn't have the same oomph in the story-telling...)
ReplyDeleteStressed? Oh yeah.......I've won the Cranky-Pants Award......well, I just threw a fit and took it! SNARF!
XXOO~~♥
Anne
OH! I can so relate ... I am a total cranky pants when I'm stressed too! I personally don't trust people who just roll with life and have sunny dispositions bwahahhahahaha! No sirree. So do not fret, you've got a crabby appleton friend. (isn't that a Carole King song hehehe)
ReplyDeleteI love Zador. I am under his spell already.
But I know I won your last giveaway thank you thank you thank you I LOVE my painting - so I will remove myself from the running (although Marty is longing for a brother). Wishing everyone good luck!
Happy happy week to you!
Sally xoxoxo
Oh Pam! The dreaded mounds and piles of stuff. Stuff that you cant throw away, because it isn't yours. Stuff that clutters the mind and the counter space...Oh I hear you Girlfriend!
ReplyDeleteI only hope you don't feel guilty about your clean sweep. I usually do, but pretend that I don't.
Zador is harmless looking and oh so cute. I would love him...unless he comes bearing a suitcase of stuff, LOL
XoX
Congratulations on finishing your book! Sometimes we have to clean sweep that counter to get their attention that it isn't a catch all for all of their things. Zador is adorable! I think that Marie's new "Bite Me" heart would look very fitting around his neck. LOL So glad that you are back with us!
ReplyDelete(((HUGS)))
Hi Jen! I have you entered. And your owl is so cute! :)
ReplyDeleteHi Jan! You know, I don't feel bad about it at all, because I have warned everyone it was coming (like a volcanic eruption!). And the counters looked lovely when I was done. lol!! I have you entered!
ReplyDeleteHey Anne-Cranky-Pants! Yes, Gizmo told me he would be happy to come over and lay down on all your stuff! :) You know, it was actually nice to just NOT sort through it all. Just put it on the floor. :)) Gotcha entered!
ReplyDeleteSally! lol! I know! What are they THINKING being chirpy with cluttered countertops! haha! I am glad you are a crappy appleton!!
ReplyDeleteOh I would love to enter and give a home to Zador. He is red and one wall in my studio is going to be red, so that's where he would go, if I win of course. Glad you made your deadline, now relax Pam. Yes, please enter me and congratulations on finishing your book. We are always happy when we can make our deadlines. Have a great week.
ReplyDeleteLisa! Lol! I promise he doesn't come with any clutter (although I am tempted to send some with him, just to get it out of here!). I don't feel guilty. I ask nicely about 5,000000000 times before I cracked. And you know, it looked so much nicer afterward. :) I have you entered!
ReplyDeleteHi Dede! Yes, sometimes you have to stop asking them, and just make a point. :) Of course, they will go right back to dumping everything everywhere in a few days, but for tonight, I have clean counter! Lol!! Happy to be back! I have you entered!
ReplyDeleteHi Gloria! Oh, a red wall sounds lovely! I hope you take lots of pictures of your studio so I can get green with envy. :)) I have you entered! Have a great week!
ReplyDeleteIt's like you and I are on the same wavelength, because I *seriously* considered doing that to the mound of junk on our dining table the other day!
ReplyDeleteI *heart* Zador! I'd love to win him. Thanks for the giveaway! :D
And thanks for the comment on my blog. I'm sure I'll take you up on talking about writing... even if neither of us have the answers. ;)
i don't know what to say. my kitchen window sill is populated. my couch is populated. is there room for zador?
ReplyDeleteit's that smile. i couldn't resist that smile.that smile will keep me honest.
if i don't win, i hope a certain person does, but i'm not telling who. i'm adding mystery to the event.
p.s. i'm glad the pile got swept away. please take it easy for a bit, please. xoxo
HAHAHAHAHA Pam, you are so funny. A meltdown, huh? And you made a pile of your family's stuff on the kitchen floor? I keep picturing you doing this and I can't help but laugh. I'm glad you are feeling better now and that you met your deadline and I'm happy that you are giving Zador away so he has a home to live in. Please throw my name in the hat - I would love to have him come live with me and Barton. Barton is lonely - he needs a friend. (:
ReplyDelete♥ audrey
No, pick me!!! Only me!!! I am in love with Zador, it was love at first sight :-). I have meltdowns all the time, the only ones who see them are my animal kids and they are not telling :-). You made me laugh, I wish you had taken a photo! Poop. xoxo
ReplyDeleteLOL Pam, your meltdown sweep-up made me chuckle - I can so see me doing the same thing. These periodic meltdowns are good for the soul. *grin*
ReplyDeleteZador is wonderful...keeping my fingers crossed
Hugs,
Sue
Zador is mighty mighty mesmerizingly magical!
ReplyDeleteWould've loved to seen a photo of the messy meltdown mound with pug on top. sigh...

Congrats on finishing your book! Yeah! Blogan's lol! Love that! Glad your back and please throw my name in the magic hat. Zador is awesome. :)
ReplyDeleteoh my gosh...Zador is cute!!! :) I think many of us can tend to get grumpy when we get stressed out. So no worries here! Wishing you a beautiful day. :)
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on meeting your deadline, Pam! As for throwing a few things on the floor, I'm not sure I'd consider that a meltdown. Maybe if you had offered up your children as a giveaway ... Anyway, I'm eager to see your next skelly. I'm picturing a grinning maid with the carcasses of dirty children in her gullet.
ReplyDeletePam, I NEVER doubted you would make your deadline! You are a woman with a passionate purpose in life... as much as I adore Zador, (and I really do), I feel tht someone else should have the chance to win one of your wonderous creations! (Besides, Enid would get jealous!) That being said, if I should win, let it count for Annie.... Zador would bring a little extra Autumn Sun into her life...
ReplyDeleteAutumnal Hugs!
♥ Robin ♥
Congrats on making your deadline!
ReplyDeleteI remember a zillion years ago when my mother did the same thing to our kitchen counter! LOL! She was always so easy going that we were in shock and scrabbled for our things and hide in our rooms. Of course, a week later it looked the same...actually my own counter kinda looks like that,,,er, um...I guess I didn't learn a darn thing!
Please throw my name in for Zador, if I win I promise to put him up VERY high from the terrors!
XOXO - Cindi
Oh Pam I know so well of those melt downs... : )
ReplyDeletePlease enter me in your awesome giveaway... I love all your work! As you know : )
Hugs~Pattee
I love it Pam! Most of us women are usually mild mannered but occasionally we have to assert ourselves and create the most lovely pile of "stuff" on the floor. It gets the point across and shows that mom can be a Jekyll and Hyde if she wants to!! You have my permission to sweep once a week. Just let them try to find a replacement for you!!
ReplyDeletewell first.... i didnt know you had a pug! lets see him sometime! pugs are so great!
ReplyDeletei'm glad you finished by deadline. maybe you're like me and you work better under stress. i did that all through college. well and from then on as a matter of fact. but it does make for frayed nerves.
Pam, you are cracking me up!!!! I have this vision of this big mess on the floor and you off in a corner looking all "crazy" - oh I wish you took a pic.
ReplyDeletePut my name in the hat peaches. I would love to try and win this guy!!!
Oh baby, that's it, that's it!!!!!! Sweep it clean, (cause it's good for the soul!) and do it again. Maybe I'll go and sweep it clean! Still, you crack me up!
ReplyDeleteHugs Lisa
Hi Athena! Do it! It feels good (although slightly insane) afterward! :)) I am always ready to talk about writing (or not writing, as I seem to do a lot MORE of that). :) Just shoot me an email any time. I've got you entered!
ReplyDeleteHi kj! There is always room for Zador. He will push the other things off of the window sill. hahaha. I am taking it a little easy...kinda. Well, for me, easy. lol! I've got you entered!
ReplyDeleteHi Audrey! Yes, I did do it. But you know, I spend A LOT of time picking up all sorts of things off of the counter, and asking politely for people to DO IT THEMSELVES. lol!! So I snapped like a twig. lol!! I have you entered! I think Zador's expression says it all. ;)
ReplyDeleteAnnie - I had this vision of the photos going international with the subtext being "Children's author loses her mind" or something - lol!!! So I decided NOT to take a pic and just tell everyone in the Universe that I did it. SOOO much smarter! :) I have you entered!
ReplyDeleteMaria - it was not pretty. Gizmo looked cute, though - hahahaha! I have you entered!!
ReplyDeleteBecca, my fellow blogan! Good to see you! (We need a secret handshake). I am back, although very tired still! lol! But then, I am usually tired, and that is what coffee is FOR! I've got you entered!
ReplyDeleteHi Sophia! Thank you! I thought if I admitted I had a complete hissy fit, then maybe other people would feel better about sweeping off their kitchen counters. But there is a good chance I am the only one! - :)) I have you entered!
ReplyDeleteJoe! LOL!!! You are too funny. Those are some FABULOUS ideas! I know you know about meeting writing deadlines. It feels so good once it is OVER. :) I have you entered!
ReplyDeleteHi Robin! Thank you! I am so lucky to have such lovely blogans in my life. :)) I will enter your name, and you can let it count for Annie. :)
ReplyDeleteHi Cindi! Yes, losing your mind as a parent is a good way to clear the room - lol!! And of course, everyone will be back to the same old thing soon. It's some law of science. Clean surfaces are like magnets that attract junk. ;) I have you entered!!
ReplyDeleteHi Pattee! It is so nice to meet another meltdown person - lol! Thank you! Are you off on your vacation? Have a great time! I have you entered!
ReplyDeleteHi Kim!! You know, I was thinking of this: what if I put everything on all the surfaces into a big box. Just leave it somewhere, like in the living room. If no one looks in that box for something they are missing, for let's say, maybe a few weeks, then I could slap a "Give away!" label on that and send it on its way. Of course, I would have to make sure I didn't put any BILLS or other important things in there. Maybe for my next meltdown - lol!! I have you entered!
ReplyDeleteHI Connie! I do have a pug. He's a very funny fellow. I will post some pics of him soon. I am like you, I do work best under stress (but not too much stress, then I just stare at my laptop while my head buzzes). A little stress helps to get me going, I guess. :) Happy Wednesday! I have you entered!
ReplyDeleteCyndi - YES! Exactly! I am sure my hair was sticking out in all directions, and I had a wild look in my eyes. haha! I should have taken pics, but I was just too embarrassed. But not to embarrassed to talk about it! :)
ReplyDeleteI put your name in the magic hat!
Lisa - lol!! Yeah, I am right there with you, sista! Just sweep it all clean. Out the door and into the front yard. hahaha! Oh, I do hope I don't do that - can you imagine? LOL! I have you entered!
ReplyDeleteOh boy I didn't want you to think I only came for the giveaway but I found you on Gloria's blog because I LOVED the monster on your profile pic. Then I opened your blog and found all this wonderful stuff. I hope you don't mind if I add myself as a follower! You are beautifully creative! Elena of My Quest

I'm late, I'm late!!! Love love love vampire rabbit!!! I find that the occasional meltdown is quite helpful in cleaning out the emotional build up. YAY about meeting your deadline. Now just breathe. **blows kisses** Deb
ReplyDeleteI love Zigor. Following. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteLOL, meltdowns and mounds, ohhhhh how I can relate. Once when my son was young ummmm probably about 8, I was so frustrated with him unfolding all of his cloths to find the perfect shirt and pants each day that I finally had one of those there Melt Down things. I took all of his cloths out of dresser and threw them all over his room then I called him to his room, the look on his face along at that point was priceless but anyway I told him you see this mess, he replied yes, I said I want every bit of it picked up, folded and put into your dresser neatly got it? He replied but I didn't do it, I said no you didn't I did and your going to clean it all up. As I left his room with a bit of a guilt feeling but better yet I snickered as I walked down the hallway leaving him to his assigned task and yep I was feeling pretty good, got that out of my system, lol. So yep, I feel your frustration, moms need meltdowns on occasion keeps the kids guessing, hehehehe.
ReplyDeleteI love Zador, he is so cute in a Vampire Rabbit Monster kinda way!!
Congrats on making your deadline!! Be sure to take a play break maybe with Zador, bet he would make you feel better and relaxed!
Please include me in your giveaway, hey do I get another chance at that handsome Salesman too???? LOL
So Sorry I've been MIA!!
((Big Hugs))
Brenda
YAY YAY YAYYYYYYY!!! You finished your project! YAHOOOOO! Congratulations. Aaaah, that great big weight has been lifted. And the dog got a mount to play with in the process. Win-win.
ReplyDeleteZador rocks! Man, your mind is ever churning, and there seems to be no shortage of awesomeness emanating from you. A bunny with fangs! Wahahahahaha, reminds me of Monty Python! Yaaa!
Hi Elena! Of course not! I am thrilled you are following, and I will put your name in the magic hat! :) Thanks so much!
ReplyDeleteHi Deb! Yes, I felt MUCH better afterward. :) And Gizmo didn't mind my meltdown at all. He looked very amused. I have you entered!
ReplyDeleteHi Hermit! Thank you! I have you entered!
ReplyDeleteBrenda! LOL! That is so funny! And mine do the same thing - rifle around in the laundry baskets like wild ferrets, pulling things out, and jamming them back in. You are a wise woman to have done that. He will never forget it - hahaha! I've got you entered, and I am giving the salesman your email address - :)!
ReplyDeleteHi Bella! Zador says to say thank you. :) I love Monty Python. And Wallace & Gromit! Lots of vampire-rabbit-thingies out there! :) I have you entered!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on meeting your deadline!!! I'm happy to hear you made it through the pile on the kitchen floor. LOL. Zador is so fun!!!
ReplyDeleteHi Miss Val! Yes, I just step around it. lol!! I will happily put your name in the magic hat!
ReplyDeleteOMG!! I hope I haven't already replied, but I can not find my face. If I have commented already, delete this.
ReplyDeletePlease please please enter me. I would take very good care of this little red person!! I would not even let Madi take him from me either.
I would say Zador is Gramma's!!!!
I love that you swept all the stuff in to a pile.
Sometimes, I feel my only use in the world is to clean every one elses crap up!!
Hi Marie! I have got you entered! And I feel the same way a lot, kinda of like a human Hoover. ;) You, of course, are worth gabillions more than that. You are an artist and a sweetie pie. Say hi to Madi for me!
ReplyDeleteOh, kisses to Robin, now i have double the chance to win my love, Zador :-). I still wish you had taken a photo! xoxo
ReplyDeleteHey Pam, did you finish your Art Dolls with my wool hair yet, please don't tell me I missed them. I have been a very poor blogger as of late, hanging my head in shame.
ReplyDeleteHope you have a wonderful weekend!!
((Hugs))
Brenda
Hi Annie! Isn't Robin nice? And if I had taken a photo, it would have been a doozy. My favorite part of the whole experience was Gizmo climbing to the top of the pile, turning around a couple of times, and then settling in for a nap. ;) Have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteHi Brenda! I am a little behind on the art dolls. Some have heads with no bodies, others are still sketches - lol! I DID use some of your wool on an ornie I made, and I will post that. I'm trying to get used to the fabric tac glue. Mostly I got it all over me, and a little on the ornie's head - haha! Happy weekend!
ReplyDeleteHi Pam!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for stopping by for some tea! ;) Next time lets have a Pumpkin Spice Latte from Starbuck's YUM YUM YUM!
You're a big sweetie and so kind to ask, my dad is doing well and gaining strength with each day. I hope your mom is doing well and feeling spunky too!
ACK! It's supposed to be a 100 tomorrow. I wanted to go to the Valley on Saturday for a postcard show and to the West Hollywood Book Fair on Sunday - I've never been to it before - but shoot, I'm a wuss and can't handle that kind of heat. We are going to go see a play at Tim Robbins theater in Culver City(he wrote and directed it), "Break the Whip", really looking forward to it. It's supposed to be inspired in part by Howard Zinn's "The People's History of the United States" and we loved HZ, so sad he passed away!
Wishing you lots of fun this weekend!
Sally xoxoxo
That cracks me up. I've fantasized about doing that but have never done it. Must have been cathartic???
ReplyDeleteYeah!!!
